Mark Foods to Acquire Bristol Seafood

Mark Foods
Mark Foods has announced it will acquire Bristol Seafood, a Certified B Corp and producer of premium scallop, groundfish and value-added products. Mark Foods imports, processes and markets premium seafood products. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in August 2025, were not disclosed.

Adding Bristol to its portfolio gives Mark Foods more production capacity and footprint, as well as Bristol’s brands (such as 44 North, My Fish Dish, Seafood Singles, Cedar Plank, and Grab & Go). All Bristol employees are expected to join the Mark Foods team, with current Bristol president and CEO Peter Handy continuing to lead category management for the seafood species Bristol specializes in. Handy will become Mark Foods’ chief operating officer, will join the board and become a shareholder as well.

The Bristol acquisition is the fourth by Mark Foods since 2020, with Arista aIndustries (2023), Endeavor Seafoods (2021) and Openwater Seafoods (2020) added previously. The company, which was founded in 2002, also recently opened a sales office in Singapore to expand its Asia Pacific efforts. Mark Foods processes more than 15 million pounds of value-added seafood offerings for retailers, chain restaurants and distributors out of its joint-venture processing facility in Orlando, Fla.
