Highwood Harbor Acquires U.S. Seafood Importer Eastern Fish
Highwood Harbor acquires U.S.-based seafood importer Eastern Fish, strengthening its position in the global seafood supply chain.

Eastern Fish, a leading frozen seafood importer and supplier in the United States, has been taken over by seafood investment firm Highwood Harbor, the companies announced. Highwood Harbor was established in 2019 by seafood industry executive Jordan Mazzetta after his exit from the family-run Mazzetta Company. Since its formation, the firm has pursued growth through strategic acquisitions, including the purchase of Maine-based seafood processor and distributor Nova Seafood in March last year.

Commenting on the latest acquisition, Mazzetta confirmed that Eastern Fish’s existing workforce will continue with the company. He described the deal as a positive development for all stakeholders, stating that the focus will be on retaining the experienced team, strengthening existing operations, and driving sustainable expansion.

Following the acquisition, Eastern Fish will continue functioning as an independent entity. The company plans to concentrate on widening its market presence and improving supply chain capabilities to support future growth.

As part of the leadership transition, Eric Bloom, formerly President and Chief Operating Officer of Eastern Fish, has been elevated to the role of Chief Executive Officer and will also become a partner in the business. In addition, Highwood Harbor’s Chief Commercial Officer, Stephen Felsenthal, will collaborate closely with Eastern Fish’s sales division.

Felsenthal noted that Eastern Fish’s strong team and established operational base provide a solid foundation for accelerating growth while maintaining the company’s core strengths.
