Nestlé Forms Global Bottled Water Joint Venture with One Rock Capital Partners

New standalone company combines Nestlé’s international bottled water business with premium brands to accelerate growth, innovation, and operational efficiency.

Nestlé has officially announced the creation of a global bottled water joint venture with One Rock Capital Partners, completing a strategic move to establish a standalone international water business. The new company will combine Nestlé’s global bottled water operations with selected premium water brands, creating a stronger platform for future growth and innovation in the beverage sector.

The transaction includes Nestlé’s international bottled water business, premium brands, and related operations outside specific retained markets. By operating as an independent business, the joint venture is expected to gain greater flexibility to invest in product innovation, expand distribution networks, and respond more quickly to changing consumer preferences in the packaged water market.

Nestlé will retain a significant minority stake in the new company, while One Rock Capital Partners will hold the majority ownership and oversee strategic development. The partnership allows Nestlé to sharpen its focus on its core food, nutrition, coffee, confectionery, and pet care businesses while maintaining exposure to future growth in the bottled water segment.

The newly formed company will continue managing a portfolio of well-known bottled water brands across international markets. It will also focus on improving operational efficiency, strengthening supply chains, and enhancing sustainability initiatives, including responsible water stewardship and environmentally friendly packaging solutions.

The joint venture reflects the continuing transformation of the global beverage industry, where companies are restructuring portfolios to focus on high-growth categories while creating specialized businesses capable of operating with greater agility. The new structure is expected to support long-term investment in premium hydration products and emerging consumer trends.

With the formation of the joint venture, Nestlé and One Rock Capital Partners aim to build a more competitive global bottled water business, combining established brands, operational expertise, and strategic investments to drive sustainable growth in the international beverage market.
