Bretts Transport Retains Top BRCGS AA+ Food Safety Rating
UK logistics specialist earns its third consecutive AA+ grade following an unannounced BRCGS audit, reinforcing excellence in food storage and distribution.

Bretts Transport has once again secured the highest BRCGS AA+ food safety accreditation following an unannounced audit of its storage and distribution operations, reaffirming its position as one of the UK’s leading logistics providers for the food industry. The achievement marks the 13th consecutive year the company has maintained BRCGS certification and the third successive year it has earned the prestigious AA+ grade.

Based in Guyhirn, Cambridgeshire, Bretts Transport specializes in the storage and distribution of ambient food products, including confectionery, snacks, biscuits, packaged foods, and food ingredients. During the unannounced inspection, auditors assessed every aspect of the company’s food storage and distribution processes, including site management, traceability, vehicle hygiene, operational procedures, and quality management systems.

The AA+ rating is the highest level awarded under the BRCGS Storage and Distribution Standard, one of the world’s most recognized food safety certification schemes. Achieving the grade through an unannounced audit demonstrates that Bretts consistently maintains high operational standards throughout the year rather than preparing specifically for scheduled inspections.

According to Managing Director Simon Stockwin, the achievement reflects the commitment of the company’s workforce to maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, food safety, and customer service. The certification provides customers with confidence that their products are handled safely and efficiently throughout the logistics process.

Food safety certifications such as BRCGS AA+ have become increasingly important for food manufacturers, retailers, and brand owners seeking reliable logistics partners. Independent verification of storage and distribution practices helps ensure product integrity, regulatory compliance, and supply chain transparency across the food industry.

By retaining the highest BRCGS AA+ rating, Bretts Transport reinforces its reputation as a trusted logistics partner for the food sector. The recognition highlights the company’s continued focus on operational excellence, food safety, and quality assurance while supporting the secure movement of food products throughout the UK supply chain.
