Dyadic Expands Non-Animal Dairy Pipeline with New Partnership

Biotechnology company advances sustainable dairy ingredients through precision fermentation and strategic development agreements

Biotechnology company Dyadic Applied BioSolutions has expanded its commercial pipeline for non-animal dairy ingredients through a new strategic development agreement, strengthening its focus on sustainable food technologies and precision fermentation-based solutions. The initiative aims to accelerate the development of alternative dairy proteins and enzymes for global food and nutrition markets.

Dyadic’s technology platform enables the production of animal-free proteins and enzymes using microbial fermentation systems. The company is working with industry partners to develop scalable alternatives to traditional dairy-derived ingredients, helping manufacturers explore more sustainable and efficient supply options.

The company’s non-animal dairy pipeline includes advanced ingredients such as recombinant dairy enzymes and proteins designed for applications in cheese manufacturing, nutrition products and other food categories. Dyadic’s collaboration with Inzymes has progressed towards commercialisation of recombinant non-animal bovine chymosin, an enzyme widely used in cheese production.

Precision fermentation is gaining attention across the global dairy industry as companies seek innovative ways to produce high-quality ingredients with improved supply chain reliability. These technologies can help create dairy components that match the functionality of traditional ingredients while supporting sustainability goals.

Dyadic is also expanding partnerships focused on additional animal-free dairy proteins, including recombinant bovine alpha-lactalbumin for global nutrition markets. The company aims to use its microbial production platforms to support the development and commercialisation of next-generation food ingredients.

The growth of alternative dairy technologies reflects increasing interest from food manufacturers in sustainable ingredient solutions, improved resource efficiency and innovative approaches to meeting future nutrition demands. Dyadic’s expanding pipeline highlights the growing role of biotechnology in transforming the dairy and food processing sectors.
