Milky Mist Commissions ₹40 Crore Skyr and Greek Yogurt Facility in Perundurai

The new ultrafiltration-based facility will raise processing capacity to 150 tonnes per day and support the company’s high-protein dairy portfolio.

Milky Mist Dairy Food has commissioned a new Skyr and Greek Yogurt manufacturing facility at its integrated plant in Perundurai, Tamil Nadu. The company has invested around ₹40 crore in the facility as part of its broader expansion and modernisation programme.

The new facility uses ultrafiltration technology and has a processing capacity of up to 150 tonnes per day. The investment is intended to increase production of Skyr and Greek Yogurt while supporting the development and expansion of Milky Mist’s high-protein dairy products.

Milky Mist had commissioned its first multi-product yogurt facility in 2022 with a capacity of around 20 tonnes per day. Since then, the company said annual demand for the category has grown by more than 50%, while demand for its high-protein yogurt products has more than doubled in recent months.

The expanded facility comes as protein-focused dairy products gain greater attention among consumers seeking convenient nutrition options. Skyr and Greek Yogurt are increasingly positioned within the high-protein dairy segment, giving manufacturers opportunities to develop products aimed at evolving dietary preferences.

The Perundurai investment forms part of Milky Mist’s wider manufacturing expansion and modernisation plans. The company’s revenue grew at a compound annual growth rate of 31.26% between FY2024 and FY2026, reaching ₹3,138.36 crore, while its portfolio covered 22 categories and more than 640 SKUs as of June 2026.

The commissioning of the new plant strengthens Milky Mist’s capacity in value-added dairy products and provides additional manufacturing capability for its high-protein range. The expansion also reflects the company’s focus on responding to growing demand for specialised and nutrition-oriented dairy products in India.
