Cambodia exported about 5 million tons of agricultural products to 84 destinations in the first eight months of 2025, generating US$2.25 billion in revenue, according to a report released by the General Department of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF). The figure represents a 35.64 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2024.
Mak Soeun, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Agriculture at MAFF, said Cambodia exported a range of key products during this period. These included about 1.95 million tons of fresh cassava, 1.36 million tons of dried cassava, nearly 618,000 tons of cashew nuts, over 184,000 tons of fresh mangoes, nearly 211,000 tons of fresh bananas, over 142,000 tons of corn, 20,700 tons of longans, and 91 other crop products totaling more than 553,000 tons.
“The total revenue from crop product exports reached about US$2.25 billion,” Soeun said. He noted that while overall exports increased, some products recorded declines. Fresh cassava exports fell by nearly 12 per cent. However, dried cassava exports rose by 59.68 per cent and cassava flour exports by 76.83 per cent, reflecting a shift from fresh cassava toward dried and processed forms for longer storage and higher value.
Exports of fresh mangoes decreased by more than 4 per cent, as local processors used more fruit for dried mango jam. As a result, exports of dried mango jam increased by 23.01 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
The Ministry of Agriculture has also announced that it will host the Cambodia Agriculture Forum & Exhibition 2025 (CAFE25) in November. The event is intended to link investment with trade to encourage more investment and promote Cambodian agricultural exports to international markets.
