RäFoods Introduces “Living Nutrition Fund” to Support Holistic Health Across America
RäFoods, a leader in Living Nutrition—foods that are biologically active, nutrient-rich, and designed to support long-term health—has announced the launch of the Living Nutrition Fund™, a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting childhood literacy and nutrition education across the United States.

The initiative reflects the company’s broader mission to enhance long-term health outcomes by addressing two critical pillars of well-being: education and nutrition.

Through the Living Nutrition Fund™, RäFoods will allocate a portion of proceeds from every product sold to support programs that strengthen early reading skills and provide practical nutrition education for children and families. The company plans to collaborate with educators, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders to deliver resources and programs to schools and communities across the country.

The initiative comes at a time when nearly two-thirds of U.S. children are not reading proficiently by the end of fourth grade—a key benchmark linked to future academic and career success. At the same time, rising levels of diet-related illnesses highlight the need for better nutrition awareness from an early age. By addressing both issues together, RäFoods aims to create meaningful, long-term impact on the health and opportunities of future generations.

Susan Harlander, a partner at RäFoods and an expert in food safety and public health, stressed the importance of early education in shaping lifelong habits. She noted that improving both literacy and nutrition knowledge is essential to driving better public health outcomes and described the Living Nutrition Fund™ as a step toward integrating these priorities effectively.

CEO Des Hague highlighted the company’s vision of combining education and health, emphasizing that while nutrition supports physical well-being, literacy opens doors to future opportunities. He expressed hope that the initiative will evolve into one of the most influential private efforts supporting both literacy and nutrition education in the country.

RäFoods also revealed plans to expand the initiative further, including community-based concepts such as the Living Nutrition Garden, which aims to bring hands-on learning experiences to local communities.

Chairman Jeff Sholl described the initiative as a natural extension of the company’s founding philosophy—that food should be purposeful, nutrient-dense, and supportive of long-term wellness. He explained that the Living Nutrition Fund™ goes beyond food by investing in children’s education and empowering future generations to lead healthier, more informed lives.

By contributing a portion of every sale to the fund, RäFoods is encouraging consumers to play an active role in improving education and health outcomes for children. The company hopes the initiative will grow into a leading private effort in this space, inspiring collaboration across the food industry, education sector, and nonprofit community.
