The 10th edition of the International Livestock, Dairy, Meat Processing and Aquaculture Exposition (ILDEX Vietnam 2026) has opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together global industry leaders, technology providers and agricultural businesses.
The three-day exhibition is being jointly organised by VNU Asia Pacific and Thailand-based ITEC. The event aims to strengthen business connections, promote technology transfer and encourage knowledge sharing across the livestock, aquaculture and food processing sectors in Vietnam and the wider Southeast Asian region.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Thai Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Wiraka Moodhitaporn highlighted Vietnam’s growing importance in the global livestock sector. She noted that the country ranks first within ASEAN and sixth globally in pork production, contributing approximately three percent of worldwide output.
According to the diplomat, trade exhibitions such as ILDEX Vietnam help connect investors, industry experts and businesses while supporting agricultural growth and regional cooperation throughout Southeast Asia.
Panadda Kongma, Vice President for Business at VNU Asia Pacific, said ILDEX Vietnam has grown beyond a traditional trade exhibition and has become a regional platform for innovation and business development within the agri-food industry.
This year’s exhibition features more than 230 companies and brands from 25 countries and territories, including China, South Korea, France, the European Union and North America. Participants are showcasing technologies and solutions related to livestock farming, aquaculture, animal feed, food processing, greenhouse systems, irrigation, crop nutrition and sustainable agriculture.
Kongma stated that Vietnam is increasingly emerging as a strategic agri-food hub in Southeast Asia due to its strong market potential, rapid sector growth and increasing international investment.
A major highlight of this year’s edition is the debut of the Vietnam national pavilion, which showcases prominent local companies including Dabaco Group, Goovet, Travetco, Asia Veterinary, AVAC and SaigonVet. The pavilion is designed to introduce Vietnam’s livestock production capabilities and supply chain strengths to global buyers and business partners.
Former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phùng Đức Tiến said Vietnam is focusing on sustainable agricultural development, food security and stronger international collaboration to modernise the sector.
He noted that livestock production currently contributes around 25 percent of the country’s agricultural GDP and continues to record annual growth of between four and six percent.
In recent years, Vietnam’s livestock sector has gradually shifted from small-scale farming towards larger industrialised production systems, helping strengthen the country’s competitiveness in global markets.
Tiến added that Vietnam now has one of the largest pig and poultry populations in the region and has developed into a significant animal feed production hub in Southeast Asia. This progress, he said, provides a foundation for more sustainable, biosecure and modern agricultural development in the years ahead.
In addition to product displays and technology showcases, ILDEX Vietnam 2026 is also hosting conferences and seminars focused on innovation, food safety, sustainable supply chains and green transformation trends in agriculture.
