STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – DAVA Foods Ingredients has agreed to acquire Swedish spice and ingredient specialist Kryddhuset i Ljung AB from Humble Group, strengthening its position in the Nordic food ingredients market. The acquisition adds production capacity, specialised expertise and a complementary customer portfolio to DAVA Foods’ existing operations.
Kryddhuset, based in Ljung, Sweden, develops, manufactures and markets spice blends, flavour solutions and ingredient products for both retail consumers and industrial food producers. Its experience in specialised ingredients is expected to complement DAVA Foods’ existing portfolio and expand its capabilities across the Nordic food industry.
Following the acquisition, DAVA Foods expects its overall volume in spice mixtures and flavour solutions to increase by more than 50%. The company also expects opportunities to create synergies across purchasing, sales, production and product development, while improving utilisation of the Ljung manufacturing facility.
Kryddhuset generated SEK 68.2 million in revenue in 2025 and currently employs 22 people. Around 10% of its revenue came from exports to Norway. Existing management and employees are expected to remain with the business following the acquisition.
The deal supports DAVA Foods’ wider strategy of expanding its position across the food-ingredient value chain in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Estonia. By combining Kryddhuset’s specialist product capabilities with DAVA Foods’ existing raw-material and production infrastructure, the group aims to strengthen its offering to food manufacturers across the region.
For DAVA Foods, the acquisition provides access to an established Swedish customer base while adding manufacturing capabilities that can support future product development. The combination is also expected to provide opportunities to coordinate sourcing and sales activities across the group’s Nordic operations.
Humble Group said the divestment forms part of its strategy to focus more closely on its core operations, with spices and ingredients no longer considered a priority area for the group. The company said DAVA Foods provides Kryddhuset with an owner possessing relevant industry expertise and long-term ambitions for the business.
The acquisition reflects continued consolidation and capability-building within the Nordic food ingredients sector, where manufacturers are seeking broader product portfolios, specialised production capabilities and stronger regional supply networks.
With Kryddhuset’s spice blends and ingredient solutions now joining its portfolio, DAVA Foods is positioned to expand its presence in the Nordic ingredients market while retaining the existing workforce and operational expertise of the Swedish business.
