Americold Breaks Ground on First Canadian Import-Export Hub

Americold
Americold has officially broken ground on its first Import-Export Hub in Canada, strategically located at Port Saint John in New Brunswick. This milestone marks the company’s sixth facility in the country and represents a major investment in enhancing cold chain infrastructure.

The $75–80 million facility will offer approximately 22,000 pallet positions—equivalent to more than 800 full truckloads of temperature-sensitive goods. This hub will capitalize on the maritime logistics expertise of DP World and the rail solutions provided by Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), ensuring seamless connectivity between domestic and international markets.

Robert Chambers, President of Americas at Americold, stated, “Developing this facility at Port Saint John marks an important step forward for Americold. The infrastructure investments by DP World and CPKC alongside Port Saint John have attracted major global shipping lines to this location, and we are excited that our world-class cold storage facility and value-added services will support food flows between Central and Eastern Canada, Europe, and South America.”

This collaboration with DP World and CPKC is set to enhance cold chain logistics and deliver new value to customers across global supply routes
