Vietnam’s Finance Minister Ngo Van Tuan has encouraged Tata Consumer Products to expand its investments in Vietnam, particularly in tea production and food processing.
The remarks were made during a meeting in Mumbai with the company’s Managing Director and CEO Sunil D’Souza, held as part of a high-level Vietnamese delegation visit to India led by To Lam.
Tuan said Vietnam is prioritising the development of a modern and sustainable agricultural processing industry, with a focus on advanced technologies, deep processing projects, and stronger supply chains to increase the value of agricultural exports. He also assured continued support for the company’s long-term investment activities in the country.
The minister praised the operations of Tata Coffee Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Ho Chi Minh City, currently India’s largest investment project in Vietnam, and welcomed plans for its second phase, which is expected to become operational before July 2027 and double production capacity. In response, D’Souza said Tata Group sees strong growth potential in Vietnam’s consumer goods processing sector and looks forward to expanding production and partnerships in sustainable supply chains and deep processing.
