Coffee chain targets metros and emerging high-growth cities as it strengthens its premium retail presence with a new Starbucks Reserve outlet in Bengaluru.
Tata Starbucks is accelerating its growth strategy in India by expanding across metropolitan markets and emerging high-growth cities, reinforcing the country’s position as one of Starbucks’ fastest-growing global markets. As part of this strategy, the company has inaugurated its first Starbucks Reserve store in South India in Bengaluru, taking the total number of Reserve stores in the country to six.
The new Starbucks Reserve outlet offers a premium coffee experience featuring rare coffee beans, artisanal brewing methods, and an elevated café environment designed for coffee enthusiasts. The launch reflects Tata Starbucks’ focus on expanding its premium offerings while catering to evolving consumer preferences in India’s growing specialty coffee market.
Currently operating more than 500 stores across India and employing around 4,300 partners, Tata Starbucks plans to deepen its presence not only in established metropolitan cities but also in rapidly developing urban centres where demand for premium café experiences continues to rise.
The expansion aligns with the company’s long-term growth strategy announced earlier, which targets 1,000 stores in India by 2028. Alongside new store openings, Tata Starbucks continues to invest in digital capabilities, premium formats, and locally relevant food and beverage offerings to enhance customer engagement and strengthen brand loyalty.
India has emerged as one of the most important growth markets for Starbucks globally, driven by rising disposable incomes, increasing urbanisation, and growing demand for premium coffee experiences. The company’s expansion into high-growth cities is expected to widen its customer base while supporting employment and local sourcing initiatives.
With its first Reserve store in South India and continued expansion across key urban markets, Tata Starbucks is reinforcing its leadership in India’s organised café segment. The strategy is expected to strengthen its premium retail footprint while capitalising on the country’s rapidly growing coffee culture and foodservice industry.
