Crown has helped Coca-Cola bring a limited-edition FIFA World Cup 2026 celebration to consumers in Spain by producing millions of premium gold-effect beverage cans within just a few days.
Crown’s beverage can plant in Valencia, Spain, rapidly produced millions of gold-effect aluminium cans for Coca-Cola following Spain’s FIFA World Cup 2026 victory. The limited-edition cans were designed to reflect the appearance of the iconic World Cup trophy and give consumers a distinctive way to celebrate the occasion.
The time-sensitive campaign required close coordination between Crown and Coca-Cola. Despite the busy summer production period, Crown completed the can production at an accelerated pace, while Coca-Cola quickly filled and distributed the cans across Spain.
The cans use aluminium’s reflective properties to create a premium gold finish, giving the limited-edition packaging strong visual impact and shelf presence. The design also demonstrates how beverage packaging can be used to create product differentiation and enhance the consumer experience during major promotional campaigns.
According to Crown, the project highlights the flexibility and speed of beverage-can manufacturing, particularly when brands need to respond quickly to major cultural or sporting events.
Tim Conybeare, Key Account Director Coca-Cola at Crown, said the company was proud to support Coca-Cola in bringing the celebratory concept to consumers in time for the post-tournament celebrations.
The project showcases the role of innovative beverage packaging in supporting fast-moving marketing campaigns while combining premium appearance, production efficiency and the sustainability advantages of aluminium packaging.
