North Korea Opens Wonsan Dairy Farm to Boost Nutrition for Children
North Korea has inaugurated the Wonsan Dairy Farm in Kangwon Province, a facility designed to enhance dairy production and provide regular supplies of milk products to children in nurseries and kindergartens, state media reported.
The farm, surrounded by greenery and planted with high-quality trees, is equipped with modern production lines for the scientific breeding of dairy cattle and the manufacture of dairy products. The initiative aims to strengthen material and technical foundations for delivering nutritious and palatable dairy products to young children, according to officials.

The facility was officially opened during a ceremony on December 3, attended by Kim Myong Guk, secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, along with provincial officials, workers, and employees of the dairy farm.

The development underscores North Korea’s efforts to bolster food security and improve nutrition for its younger population amid ongoing economic challenges.
