Telangana Govt to Provide Vijaya Dairy Milk to 27 Lakh Government School Students
School milk programme set to enhance nutritional intake among children from economically weaker sections.

In a major step toward improving child nutrition and supporting the dairy sector, the Telangana government has announced that approximately 27 lakh students studying in government schools will receive milk supplied by Vijaya Dairy.

The initiative was announced by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka as part of the state’s efforts to strengthen nutrition among schoolchildren.

The programme is expected to benefit students across government-run educational institutions by providing them with a reliable source of essential nutrients. Officials believe the initiative will contribute to better health, growth, and overall well-being of children, particularly those from economically weaker sections.

Apart from improving student nutrition, the scheme is also expected to provide a boost to Vijaya Dairy and the state’s dairy farmers by increasing milk procurement and strengthening the local dairy ecosystem. The government plans to implement the programme systematically to ensure that milk reaches all eligible students across Telangana.

The announcement reflects the Telangana government’s continued focus on welfare-oriented programmes aimed at enhancing educational outcomes and child health while simultaneously supporting local agricultural and dairy industries.
