Indian Food Brands Eye USD 50 Billion US Market at New York Trade Show
New York: India has recorded its largest-ever participation at the 2026 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, with more than 70 exhibitors showcasing a wide range of agricultural and processed food products to strengthen their presence in the US market.
The event, regarded as North America’s leading specialty food exhibition, has brought together Indian food brands, exporters and innovators under the India Pavilion. According to organisers, the North American market presents a potential opportunity worth USD 30-50 billion for Indian consumer packaged food products over the next decade.
The India Pavilion was inaugurated at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center by Consul General of India in New York Binaya Pradhan and Michelin-starred chef Vikas Khanna. The pavilion highlights India’s growing role in the global food industry and showcases the diversity and quality of its agricultural and processed food products to international buyers, retailers and distributors.
Led by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and the All India Rice Exporters Association, the pavilion features products ranging from basmati rice and spices to ready-to-eat meals, beverages, organic products, frozen foods and snacks.
Pradhan interacted with exhibitors and exporters, including those representing basmati rice and ready-to-eat food segments, and expressed confidence that the pavilion would help expand India’s food exports and strengthen its brand presence in the United States.
Speaking at the event, chef Vikas Khanna said each product on display reflects the efforts of millions of people across India’s food supply chain, from farmers and traders to manufacturers, exporters and retailers.
Special attractions at the pavilion include an Indian Mango Showcase and a Basmati Culinary Showcase, aimed at promoting some of India’s most iconic food products to global audiences.
Separately, the Indian Consulate in New York organised the first virtual exhibition and buyer-seller meet for Indian textiles and apparel through the India-USA Trade Facilitation Portal in partnership with the Apparel Export Promotion Council. The initiative saw participation from 22 Indian exporters and 40 US importers, creating additional opportunities for trade collaboration between the two countries.
