Oman Explores Belarusian Expertise in Agriculture and Food Industry
Omani delegation visits Belarus to study food production technologies, agricultural innovation, and investment opportunities aimed at strengthening food security and industrial cooperation.

Oman is exploring opportunities to strengthen cooperation with Belarus in agriculture, food processing, and technology as part of its broader efforts to enhance food security and support industrial development. During a visit to Belarus, an Omani delegation toured a range of agricultural, food manufacturing, and technology facilities to assess potential areas for collaboration and investment.

The delegation, led by Oman’s Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, visited Belarus during Agro-Industrial Week and the BELAGRO 2026 exhibition in Minsk. The visit focused on gaining insights into Belarus’s expertise in food production, agricultural innovation, and advanced manufacturing.

As part of the programme, the delegation visited the Slutsk Cheese Factory, where members were introduced to modern dairy production technologies and manufacturing processes. The visit provided an overview of the company’s production capabilities and its contribution to the development of Belarus’s dairy sector.

Representatives from Oman’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Oman Food Investment Holding Company, and Omani European Food Industries Company also toured Bellakt, a leading Belarusian producer of infant nutrition and dairy products. Discussions focused on advanced production technologies, food quality standards, and food safety systems. Both sides explored opportunities for investment partnerships, joint ventures, and the exchange of technical expertise.

The delegation further examined Belarus’s technological and industrial capabilities through visits to the Belarus-China Industrial Park and the country’s Hi-Tech Park. Officials reviewed investment opportunities, manufacturing infrastructure, logistics capabilities, and innovation-driven business models that could support future cooperation between the two countries.

Discussions also covered the possibility of attracting Belarusian manufacturers and technology companies to establish operations in Oman, taking advantage of the Sultanate’s strategic location and favourable investment environment. Technology transfer, industrial collaboration, and knowledge sharing emerged as key areas of mutual interest.

The visit underscores the growing economic relationship between Oman and Belarus and reflects both countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation in food security, agriculture, technology, and industrial development. By combining Belarus’s expertise in food production and innovation with Oman’s investment ambitions, the partnership is expected to create new opportunities for sustainable growth and long-term economic collaboration.
