Telangana Strengthens Food Processing Sector with New KJS India Facility
KJS India Pvt Ltd has launched construction of its Food Processing Unit-II near Thogarpally village in Kondapur mandal of Sangareddy district, Telangana, with the foundation stone laid by Industries and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu and Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha.

The project is being developed with an investment of Rs. 650 crore across 44 acres and is expected to create direct employment for nearly 1,500 people while supporting indirect livelihoods for around 5,000 others.

During the event, Sridhar Babu stated that the Telangana government is strongly focused on industrial expansion to generate employment opportunities, especially in backward regions, and plans to establish more large-scale food processing hubs across the state.

He highlighted that Telangana is aiming to secure a stronger position in the global food processing market, which is projected to reach $9 trillion, while also promoting value-added industries in agriculture-based regions.

The Minister noted that Telangana leads the country in paddy production and is also a major producer of milk, fruits, vegetables, and turmeric, creating strong opportunities for food processing industries that can benefit farmers and youth alike. He further said the government is working to develop the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) around Zaheerabad into a major industrial corridor with global significance.

Rajanarasimha said the state is committed to providing infrastructure support for industries and encouraged industrialists to invest in underdeveloped areas to create employment and economic growth. TGIIC chairperson Nirmala Jagga Reddy said the government, under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, is promoting industrial corridors to accelerate rural development and added that the new facility would prioritise women’s employment, with around 1,000 jobs expected to be offered to women workers. Several elected representatives, government officials, and company executives, including KJS India Chairman Girish Jain and Managing Director CP Ranka, were present at the ceremony.
